What is AdBlue?

< 1 min read

AdBlue is a high-purity urea solution designed for use in diesel vehicles equipped with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. It helps reduce harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, which are a major contributor to air pollution. AdBlue is composed of 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionised water, and it is non-toxic, colourless, and biodegradable.

AdBlue is stored in a separate tank within the vehicle and is injected into the exhaust system, where it breaks down NOx emissions into harmless nitrogen and water vapour. It is widely used in modern diesel vehicles, including cars, lorries, buses, and agricultural machinery, to comply with stringent environmental standards such as Euro 6 regulations.
